Lauren The first time we attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom, we didn’t get dressed up. We were nerdy, we thought, but not that nerdy. We ended up being the only people not in costume.
Dressed up or not, the party is awesome. The park is open until 1 AM, there are two rounds of breathtaking fireworks, they pass out candy, play spooky music, there are pop-up Dance Parties everywhere, and the parade they run through the park has seriously creepy grave diggers from the Haunted Mansion, and insane dancing pirates. But for the last four years, we’ve dressed the hell up, making everything even more fun.
I think I like the party so much because I love Halloween, but often adults aren’t able to take advantage of the holiday. But on one night, for Mickey’s Halloween Party, we are dressed up just like five year olds, running around the park, jumping on rides, eating candy, and lining up on Main Street to see the headless horseman run through on a real live horse.
If I can have that one night of sillyness with my mom every year, I will die a avery happy person.
